Election Prayer

Prayer Over Sarasota County for the Midterm Elections

Heavenly Father,

We come before Your throne of grace in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, acknowledging that You alone are sovereign over the affairs of men. You raise up leaders and remove leaders according to Your perfect wisdom. Today, we surrender Sarasota County into Your hands and ask that Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.

Father, we pray over every race, every office, and especially those seeking to serve on our School Board. We ask that Your Kingdom purposes prevail over every human agenda. Let every decision, every campaign, and every election outcome align with Your divine purposes for our community.

Lord, we pray for election integrity. May every ballot be cast honestly, every vote counted accurately, and every aspect of the election conducted with fairness, transparency, and truth. Expose every form of deception, corruption, manipulation, and injustice. Let righteousness and justice guide this election from beginning to end.

Father, we especially lift up those who desire to lead our schools. We ask You to raise up men and women of integrity, wisdom, humility, and moral courage—leaders who value truth, protect the innocent, and serve with honesty and compassion. Grant them discernment to make decisions that benefit students, families, educators, and our entire community.

Lord, we pray for the sanctity of the family, Your first institution established from the beginning of creation. Strengthen marriages, encourage parents, and restore homes to be places where love, truth, discipline, and faith flourish. Help our schools to respect the vital role of parents in raising and guiding their children, and may families be supported rather than divided.

Father, we lift up the children of Sarasota County. We ask You to surround them with Your protection and cover them with Your peace. Guard their hearts, minds, and bodies from influences that would lead them away from truth, wisdom, purity, and hope. Help them grow in character, integrity, kindness, and respect for others. Raise up a generation that seeks what is good, loves truth, and walks in wisdom.

Lord, bless our teachers, administrators, staff, and volunteers. Give them wisdom, patience, and compassion as they serve our students each day. May our schools be places where children are encouraged to learn, develop their God-given gifts, and prepare to become responsible, caring members of society.

Your Word declares, "When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice" (Proverbs 29:2). We pray that those who lead with integrity, justice, humility, and a sincere desire to serve the common good would be entrusted with positions of responsibility according to Your will.

Holy Spirit, stir the hearts of believers throughout Sarasota County to pray faithfully and to participate thoughtfully in the election process. Give every voter discernment to look beyond campaign promises and personalities, recognizing the character, integrity, and wisdom of those seeking office. May each vote be cast prayerfully, with a sincere desire to honor You and seek the welfare of our community.

Finally, Father, we pray for peace throughout Sarasota County before, during, and after the election. Remove division, bitterness, fear, and confusion. Teach us to speak with grace, love our neighbors, and remember that our ultimate hope rests not in earthly governments but in Jesus Christ, the King of Kings.

May Sarasota County be known as a place where truth is honored, justice is upheld, families are strengthened, children are protected, and righteousness is pursued. Let Your light shine brightly in our homes, our churches, our schools, and throughout our community.

We trust You to accomplish Your good and perfect will, and we give You all the glory.
